MARRIAGES

Rachlin was first married to Carmen Alfandary in May 1941 in Rio de Janeiro.  Carmen died November 23, 2010. They had one son, Michael Luis, born July 28, 1944, died 29 July, 2020.

His second marriage was to Ann Ziff (nee Lyttleton) in London on May 25 1969. www.annrachlin.com www.funwithmusic.com Ezra enjoyed a very happy and loving relationship with his three step-children, Jan, Trisha and Max Ziff and his three grandchildren Alexandra, Joanna and Ben Ziff.

MICHAEL RACHLIN

Is Ezra Rachlin’s only child, son of his first marriage to Carmen Alfandary Rachlin, who lives in Dallas, Texas.

MICHAEL RACHLIN was born in Philadelphia, USA in 1944. When Ezra was appointed Musical Director and Conductor of the Austin Symphony Orchestra, the family moved to Texas where Michael was brought up. He was a pupil at St. Andrew’s School, O’Henry Junior High School and Stephen F Austin High School, Class of ’62. In 1967 Michael graduated from the University of Texas (Austin) as a Bachelor of Journalism with minors in English and Anthropology.

After a stint in radio and television, Michael served in the US Army as an Information Specialist at Ft Polk, LA & Heidelberg, Germany from 1970-72. Moving to Florida in 1972, he has worked as Editor, Information Specialist and Legal Proofreader and was Assistant Director & Interim Director of Public Relations at Florida A&M University. 1n 1987, he moved to the Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities, where he served as Public Information Coordinator. .

Since 1995 Michael has been the sole proprietor of Head Over Heels, a speciality dancewear retail establishment providing shoes, bodywear and accessories for fitness, gymnastics, and all forms of dance. Based in Tallahassee, Head over Heels serves the North Florida–South Georgia area, and specialises in custom fittings of shoes for ballet–especially pointe–jazz, ballroom, hip-hop and lyrical dance.
